Patent details
An AI-Enabled Transformer Oil Quality Sensor Hub is disclosed. The Hub integrates: a nine-gas dissolved gas analysis (DGA) sensor array comprising NDIR optical sensors, electrochemical hydrogen sensors, and a semipermeable membrane oil degassing module with automated nitrogen purge self-zeroing capability; a physicochemical oil property sensor suite including a miniaturized IEC 60156-compliant dielectric breakdown voltage test cell, a Karl Fischer moisture sensor, and an NIR spectroscopy module for acidity, colour, and oxidation inhibitor measurement; a multi-modal partial discharge detection module comprising HFCT, acoustic emission piezoelectric array, and UHF antenna sensors with TDOA-based PD source localization; an IEC 60076-7 thermal model for winding hot-spot temperature and insulation aging rate estimation; an onboard AI inference engine implementing concurrent Duval Triangle, Rogers Ratio, Doernenburg Ratio, and Key Gas fault diagnostics with Bayesian evidence fusion, composite Oil Health Index computation, LSTM-based Remaining Useful Life prediction, and rate-of-change anomaly detection; a communication interface supporting IEC 61850, DNP3, Modbus, and 4G/NB-IoT cellular with IEC 62351 encryption; and a self-calibrating DGA system with onboard certified reference gas cartridge. The Hub is designed for retrofit installation on energized transformers and enables autonomous, real-time, multi-parameter transformer oil and insulation condition monitoring with AI-driven fault diagnosis and prognostics, without dependence on remote computing resources.
