Abstract
The present invention discloses a microfluidic device and method for evaluating the effects of plant-derived extracts on cancer cell signalling pathways in a controlled microenvironment. The device comprises a network of microchannels, at least one cell culture chamber for culturing cancer cells, and a gradient generation module configured to deliver varying concentrations of plant extracts. A detection system, including fluorescence-based biosensors or optical monitoring units, is integrated to enable real-time analysis of intracellular signalling activities such as protein phosphorylation, gene expression, and apoptosis-related responses.
